FAQs
Welcome to the MIA Concrete Contractors Frequently Asked Questions page. We know that customers and potential clients have a lot of questions about concrete, so let’s talk about them!

How long will this concrete installation process take?

This answer greatly depends on the job specifications, time of year, and other factors. However, your project can take anywhere from two to ten days, depending on whether you need a resurfaced driveway or a totally new pool deck. Discuss your expectations with your concrete services provider to make sure you are both on the same page prior to agreeing on your contract.

What is concrete curing?

The curing process occurs after your concrete is poured. This process prevents moisture loss and preserves the strength of your concrete. A curing compound can be added to your concrete to eliminate the loss of moisture. Curing is an exceptionally important aspect of proper concrete installation.

What makes concrete the right solution for me?

Concrete is a more affordable, durable, and resilient material than other types of flooring such as stone, brick, or wood. With many design options and state-of-the-art installation technologies, it is the best material for your patio, warehouse, or driveway.

What is stamped concrete?

Your driveway installer can utilize a physical mat resembling cobblestone, river rock, brick, or other materials to decorate your concrete as it dries. This provides an interesting design and unique appearance– let your concrete patio installer know if you are interested in adding this feature to your concrete.

When should concrete be sealed?

Your paving contractor should seal your concrete between three to twelve months after the initial pour. The sealing process protects your concrete and can also provide a slip resistant surface.

Are MIA Concrete Contractors licensed?

Yes. We are licensed, bonded, and insured for concrete construction in the Miami area.

What is your service area?

MIA Concrete Contractors is pleased to serve the following areas:

  • Miami, FL
  • Hollywood, FL
  • Kendall, FL
  • Miami Beach, FL

What happens after concrete is poured?

It is important to keep the concrete area moist for at least seven days after it is poured. This can be accomplished by covering the concrete with straw or a plastic blanket.

What should I do to protect my new concrete driveway?

We recommend parking in different areas in your driveway within the first twelve months. Please do not make sharp tire turns during this time period, as this could scuff your installed concrete.

It’s best not to park a camper or big rig truck on your driveway for your first year, and avoid driving on the sides of your driveway, as these are the least strong areas.

What about concrete cracks?

Miniscule cracks are an inevitable part of the concrete curing process, and will also occur as the area settles. However, adding a sealant and periodically resealing your concrete will protect your concrete and prevent moisture which can exacerbate cracking.

It is possible to reinforce concrete to prevent cracking to a certain extent, but cracks of some variety are impossible to avoid.
